Discover the beauty of Barbados on a guided tour of the East Coast and the historic Garrison district. Visit the street where Rihanna lived, see the Morgan Lewis Windmill and the Mount Gay Visitor Centre. Everyone dreams of spending a day in paradise, and Barbados truly is paradise. To start your day, we will visit the street where Rihanna lived and see the exterior of the house where she lived, then head to the East Coast of Barbados. We will stop at Cherry Tree Hill, which offers breathtaking views of the East Coast, then head to the Morgan Lewis Windmill. The windmill is among the 100 most endangered historical sites in the world. Descending to the coast, we will pass through Cattlewash and stop at Bathsheba, named for its great beauty. This is also where the Soup Bowl is located, a favorite stop for surfers in Barbados. Our next stop will be at St. John's Church, one of the oldest churches on the island. The church is situated on a cliff and offers a spectacular view. From this Gothic church, we will travel through the parish of St. George, passing the Gun Hill Signal Station and the great white lion, towards the historic Garrison district. St. Ann's Fort, built in 1705, was the first British garrison built in the West Indies. The garrison served as the regional headquarters for the British Navy and quickly expanded to include barracks and a parade ground. For over a century, it was the largest British colonial garrison. The garrison holds special significance for the people of Barbados, as it was here that the independent nation's flag was raised on November 30, 1966. On the way back to the port, we will also pass through the capital of Bridgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For the second part of your day, we will visit SAVVY on the bay, in Carlisle Bay. At Carlisle Bay, you will enjoy a relaxing lunch before heading for an afternoon of discovery with a visit to the Mount Gay Visitor Centre, where you will learn about the history of rum and participate in a lively tasting led by Mount Gay Rum tour guides. They will guide you and your taste buds through the flavors, aromas, and subtle nuances of the different rums produced. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. While we understand your situation and strive to provide you with the greatest possible comfort, our island's roads can be bumpy and winding. We must also ensure the well-being of all our guests and the cleanliness of the vehicle. If you are ill on board, you will be required to reimburse the driver, before the end of the tour, for cleaning costs amounting to between 75 and 150 US dollars. We thank you for your understanding.
