Visit to St. Nicholas Abbey plantation, distillery, train ride, lunch, visit to the East Coast visitor centers and Mount Gay Rum Guided Tour. Rum, also known as "rumbullion and kill devil," was invented in Barbados. That's why Barbados is known as the birthplace of rum. On this tour, we'll share the history of rum with you by visiting St. Nicholas Abbey, a plantation house built in the 17th century. The plantation produces an award-winning rum and is always delighted to offer you a sample. You'll visit the plantation house, gardens, rum distillery, and take a ride on the Heritage Railway, a restored old steam engine. After a morning of discovery, we'll stop for lunch before a brief stop in the picturesque coastal village of Bathsheba before heading to the Mount Gay Visitor Center, where you'll learn about the history of rum and attend a fun tasting session led by Mount Gay Rum Tour guides, who will lead you and your taste buds through the flavors, aromas, and subtle nuances of the different rums produced by the company. The name and address of your hotel or accommodation must be provided at the time of booking. If you suffer from motion sickness, we recommend taking precautions before the start of the tour. If you become ill on board, you will need to reimburse the driver, before the end of the tour, for cleaning fees ranging from 75 to 150 US dollars. Thank you for your understanding.
