Come and discover the mangrove of Génipa Bay in Martinique and enjoy a guided tour that is as informative as it is fun! Activity overview: Duration: 2h30 - maximum 12 people - The tour starts from the town of Trois-Îlets where you will board Le Mantou, a small shuttle with about a dozen seats in a small group. - On the way to the mangrove, you will pass by the three islets from which the municipality of Trois-Îlets takes its name: Ilet Charles, Ilet Thebloux and Ilet Sixtain, named after the last lime-kiln owners of these islets. - Once you reach the shores of the municipality of Ducos, you will venture into the heart of the Mangrove via the Cocotte Canal or the Rivière Salée Canal. - While making your way along the canal at reduced speed, your guide will help you distinguish the different types of mangrove trees (red, black, white and grey), their characteristics, their peculiarities and their sometimes spectacular reproduction methods. - To conclude this half-day on a high note, your guide will take you to stop at the Petit Ilet (or Ilet Robinson) for a well-deserved refreshment. Local fruit juices, homemade platters or even a 'special' punch – to each their own taste! A magical moment for all, young and old, that simultaneously takes you back in time and reveals the richness of part of the Martinique ecosystem through passionate and well-documented commentary.
