Join our 3-hour Nassau tour with 6 stops! Visit the Rum Cake Factory, the forts, the Queen's Staircase, John Watling's Distillery, sample local specialties and conch fritters on an ATV or buggy. This exciting new excursion will immerse you in a Bahamian adventure in six epic steps. Enjoy a three-hour historical tour of downtown Nassau aboard your choice of vehicle, an ATV or a buggy. Our first stop will be the famous Rum Cake Factory, where you will learn about the history of this local dessert that packs a punch, while sampling a tasty assortment of delicious moist rum cakes. We will then continue to our second stop, historical Fort Montagu, the oldest and smallest fort built to protect Nassau's eastern end. This beautiful monument still stands proudly along the eastern waterfront. We will then enjoy a refreshing coconut and a sample of one of our local appetizers, 'conch fritters', before heading to our third stop, the Queen's Staircase, a staircase carved into the limestone rock by slaves between 1793 and 1794, also known as the '66 steps', which provides direct access to Fort Fincastle. Strategically located atop Bennet's Hill to protect the historic city of Nassau and its harbor, it offers an excellent vantage point over downtown Nassau and also features its own mini straw market where you can buy a local souvenir or two. From there, we'll head to Tasty Teas, where you'll experience for yourself the intricacies and exotic blends of several versions of iced tea, while learning about the rich history and culture of traditional Bahamian teas and remedies. Finally, we'll head to our last stop, John Watling's Distillery, where you can sample a small taste of the 'cocktail of the day' while exploring the museum-like tavern of this historic estate where Bahamians handcrafted John Watling's rums in small batches, before returning. Drivers must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid driver's license. Please bring towels, sunscreen, comfortable clothing and suitable shoes.
