Sit on a chair, take your bottle of sweet liquid, hold out your index finger and wait for a hummingbird to land on your finger to drink from the bottle, which you will tilt forward. Feel that tingling sensation as its claws grip your finger while it flaps its wings at high speed to keep its balance before settling on your finger to drink. Discover the rivalry of the red-billed streamertails as they chase each other to drink from the bottle. Smaller species, known as mangoes, will hover above your finger and drink from the bottle, but won't land on your finger. Admire the black-faced and yellow-faced grassquits perched on your lap or on the ground near you, eating birdseed. Watch ground doves and other bird species feeding on the ground or flying from tree to tree. Explore the property on foot with your guide who will show you other larger birds, such as the Jamaican owl, as well as other migratory birds that travel thousands of miles each year from Canada and the United States. Enjoy breathtaking views of the city of Montego Bay from the heights, on a terrace where you can also sit and observe birds such as the Jamaican oriole feeding at the feeders.
