Your adventure begins at the location of your choice. You can drive your own vehicle and follow the guide, or opt for our optional round-trip shuttle transportation service, with convenient meeting locations in San Juan (Plaza Loïza, Cll. Corona), Carolina (Walgreens Ave. Fragoso), Luquillo (Walgreens), and Fajardo (Ralph’s Food Warehouse). After a brief safety presentation and receiving your life jacket, you will leave everyday life behind, along with anything you don't want to get wet, and enter the heart of a world composed of lush jungle, rushing waters, and vibrant tropical landscapes. During your hike on the forest's scenic trails, your guide will tell you fascinating stories about Puerto Rican culture, Taíno legends, as well as local plants and wildlife that make El Yunque such a unique ecosystem. After about 25 minutes of hiking, you will reach your first destination: a natural pool hidden in the heart of the rainforest. On-site, you can swing on ropes, jump from natural rock formations of different heights, or simply relax in the refreshing mountain water. However, the adventure continues. Climb a little higher to reach a second, more isolated pool, where nature transforms into a playground. Slide down smooth volcanic rock slides into crystal clear waters – one of the most unforgettable moments of the visit. After enjoying both natural pools, you will hike back down the trail, freshen up, and then celebrate this experience by enjoying free snacks in a friendly atmosphere before heading back. Participants who choose the San Juan / Carolina transportation option will also enjoy an additional stop at the famous Luquillo kiosks after the rainforest excursion. Located next to the beautiful Luquillo beach, this lively seaside boardwalk features dozens of kiosks offering local food: authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, tropical drinks, seafood, mofongo, and refreshing treats. This is one of the most iconic gastronomic destinations on the island and the perfect place to relax and discover local flavors after your rainforest adventure. You must come with your own car, as transportation is not provided unless chosen in advance. There are no Ubers, taxis, or public transport nearby. An optional shuttle from Carolina (Walgreens Ave. Fragoso), Luquillo (Walgreens), or Fajardo (Ralph’s Seafood Warehouse) is available for an additional fee. This must be booked in advance and is subject to availability. NOT AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY, SUNDAY, OR FOR AFTERNOON TOURS. The San Juan/Carolina option includes a stop of at least 45 minutes at the Luquillo kiosks for a meal before continuing the itinerary. Participants who show up without having booked the shuttle, who refuse to pay, who arrive late, or for whom there is no space available will be considered absent and will not receive any refund. Any cancellation must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Meeting locations: Walgreens, Avenida Fragoso, Carolina; Walgreens, Luquillo; Ralph’s Seafood Warehouse, Fajardo.
