Go on a discovery of Matanzas and the fascinating Bellamar caves during this excursion that will immerse you in the charm of a small coastal town and its surroundings, all from Varadero. An experience not to be missed! Tour itinerary: We will start with a pickup from your hotel in Varadero before heading towards the Bellamar caves, located on the outskirts of Matanzas. Upon arrival, you will be amazed by these caves, which are more than 300,000 years old, where you will have the opportunity to admire the stalactite and stalagmite formations. Additionally, you will explore helictites as well as various rooms like the Manto de Colón, Paso de la Lluvia, and Huerto de las Zanahorias—natural beauties that will not fail to impress you! Then, we will head towards the observatory of the Monserrate Hermitage, offering a panoramic view of the Yumurí Valley and the city of Matanzas. This place was the favorite of Federico García Lorca during his visit to Cuba. We will continue our visit with Plaza Libertad before reaching the Pharmaceutical Museum. Entering this museum, you will discover a genuine 19th-century French apothecary shop, rich in porcelain jars, various instruments, and historical recipe books. Leaving, don't miss the Sala White, an 1860s monument that once served as an Artistic and Literary Lyceum. You will also have the opportunity to admire the photo gallery of the Hotel Velasco, the neoclassical and baroque Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo, as well as the Plaza de la Vigia, while learning the fascinating stories of pirate attacks that took place in this region. Finally, we will take you back to your hotel in Varadero around 1:30 PM.
