About Barbancourt Distillery
Haiti's most famous spirit and a point of national pride, produced at the Domaine Barbancourt estate in Damien since 1862. Founder Dupré Barbancourt brought the double-distillation method of Cognac to the Caribbean and aged the result in Limousin oak, a technique still used today with fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses, making it a true rhum agricole. Guided visits take in the distillation hall, oak-barrel cellars, and a tasting of the flagship Reserve Speciale and 15-year expressions.
